Uniforms

To promote school safety and enhance the learning environment, Nash County Public Schools has adopted a uniform dress code (NCPS Policy 4316). J. W. Parker Middle School is part of the district’s required uniform program for all middle schools. The uniform requirements for J. W. Parker Middle School consist of: 

  Shirts

  • Shirts for all students will be collared polo-styled or button down shirts with long or short sleeves in white, black, navy blue, or gold.

  • Shirts must be a solid color. 

  • Shirts should be tucked in at all times except during PE classes.

  • Students may wear solid color shirts of school colors (white, black, or gold) under the polo-style shirt. 

  • J. W. Parker Middle School sponsored shirts may be worn in lieu of the polo-style uniform shirt. 

  • Shirts may only contain two logos/branding. 

Pants/Skirts/Shorts/Dresses

  • All types of uniform pants, shorts, and skirts must have no more than four regular pockets and be belted or well-fitted at the waist. 

  • Pants, shorts, skirts, capris, and dresses must be navy blue, black, or khaki/tan.

  • Pants/shorts/skirts/dresses will be worn at the waist. No sagging pants, inside-out clothing, backward clothing, or rolled up pant legs are allowed. Belts must be buckled and worn at the waistline.

  • Shorts, skirts, etc. must cover to at least the mid-thigh.

  • Cargo pants, blue jeans, low-riders, athletic pants (tights, leggings, yoga pants, sweats, etc.), and any pants/shorts/skirts/dresses with holes are not allowed.

Sweatshirts/Sweaters/Coats

  • All outerwear must be of appropriate size and color: white, navy blue, black, gold, or gray. 

  • All outerwear must be a solid color. 

  • May only contain two official logos/branding (No pictures or images allowed). 

  • J. W. Parker Middle sponsored outerwear may be worn.

  • If outerwear does not meet the dress code requirements, it must be removed and stored in an appropriate location.
